Mission & purpose

By Loving God, Loving Others and Serving the World, Team B.I.G. Youth Ministry seeks to help young people grow spiritually, socially, mentally, and emotionally.  Teaching them to develop a personal faith base relationship with Christ, to stand firmly on the promises of God and to honor God with their lives so they can be empowered to love and serve others.  Providing a place where youth can began to grow and serve.  We have a variety of Ministries, enrichment activities that are designed to encourage, challenge and equip the youth to make a difference in the world and make a difference in their lives daily.

B.I.G. WORSHIP CONNECTIOn

Youth worship             

Youth Worship is held in the Life Center once a month, service starting at 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Youth Worship is a time for the youth to experience worship through teaching and to enjoy the arts of ministry with a themed focus for teaching.

2nd Sunday worship in the sanctuary at 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.                                                                                                                 4th Sunday Nontraditional worship in the Life Center at 11:00 a.m.

Youth Choir    

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" Psalm 100:1

The youth choir actively seeks youth who are truly not ashamed and who are truly interested in singing praises unto God. The choir is open to youth ages 13-high school graduates.  They minister to the congregation on second Sundays.

Junior Ushers  

The junior ushers is a service oriented auxiliary that ministers to the needs of the Church and it's members during youth scheduled services and any special services. The junior ushers are forerunners to prepare the church for the guest and members by being among the first to arrive at Church.  They receive the guest with a smile.  They make sure the worship programs are distributed to the congregation as needed.

junior Deacons                    

The junior deacons serve as devotional leaders on second Sundays. They are trained in basic guidelines on the duties of the Deacon. Young men between the ages of 13 to 18 may train to be junior deacons.                                                                                       

youth door Greeters               

"I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God"  Psalm 85:10

Youth Door Greeters greet all visitors as well as members in the foyer of the church. Their duties are to provide directions to church facilities and information. They are the first to welcome our visitors and members. They serve on second Sunday of each month.


THE ARTS OF B.I.G. MINISTRY

Liturgical Dance Ministry              

The liturgical dancers are a group of Christian youth both male and female who perform dance routines for the glory of the Lord. The dancers perform during special occasions at Morning Star and other churches and events. Practice sessions are held on Monday.

Strong tower Mime Ministry                 

This ministry is just for committed, hard working young men. It is a form of drama with visual expressions of a song or story through the movement of actors to glorify the Lord. The movements are carefully times to lyrics and/or rhythm. The group's name is "Strong Tower", taken from Proverbs 18:10.
