The Hunt-Jackson Scholars
Too often, our boys are labeled “at-risk.” We see them differently.
We at Morning Star see them as “at-promise”. “On-purpose”. “Full of potential”.
The Hunt-Jackson Scholars Program is an exciting new initiative designed to uplift, inspire, and equip African-American boys from the Mooretown community through:
STEM-based learning trips (Sci-Port, NASA, LSUS Robotics)
Leadership & cultural exposure (HBCUs, City Hall, Black business tours)
Team-building & outdoor adventures (sports camps, survival weekends)
Family engagement (father-son retreats, family cookouts, museum trips)
This program is about planting vision, building confidence, and reclaiming brilliance in our boys—long before the world tries to limit them.
We are creating a safe, inspiring, and culturally affirming space where these young kings can thrive, academically, emotionally, and socially.
We don’t wait for greatness to show up. We grow it.
